Go Pack Go!
Friday before Super Bowl XLV Sunday. If only I could be there to watch the game live, cheer the team on, and enjoy every aspect of this enormous football fest. After all, it has been 13 years since the team made the Super Bowl last. But, I have to follow the team from a distance just like all other people who can’t afford to pay thousands of dollars for a ticket. Thankfully, the Green Bay Packers is a team that tries to include its fans in any way they can – if the fans can’t be there, then through the social media.
Staying connected with the fans is incredibly important to most teams, and the Packers is not an exception. Many of the players have Twitter accounts where they can keep the dialogue open with their fans – something that most of them feel is is a great way of paying tribute to the people who support them. But, just like with most positive things, there is also a negative side – something that the Packers got to experience first hand last week when a couple of players chose to criticize the team over the Web.
But, regardless of incidents like this one, I am very thankful for the opportunity to follow my favorite team online when I can’t be there in person!
